Duane Meyers

Duane Meyers started his career as a Wisconsin State Trooper in 1982 and has been specializing in collision reconstruction since 1988. He retired as the supervisor for the State Patrol’s Technical Reconstruction Unit (TRU) in June of 2013 and is accredited by ACTAR (Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction). He has been involved in the development and instruction of crash related programs at the Wisconsin State Patrol Academy since 1985, until his recent retirement. Mr. Meyers has reconstructed numerous traffic collisions and has been qualified as an expert witness in numerous courts throughout Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, and Illinois.
Duane received his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Ferris State University in 1981 followed by his law enforcement training from the Wisconsin State Patrol Academy. He has attended over 3400 hours of specialized crash related training from colleges such as; Northwestern University, University of North Florida, Texas A&M University and other institutions. Duane is a current member of several professional organizations including the Society of Automotive Engineers. He is a past member of the Board of Directors for the Midwest Association of Technical Accident Investigators and also a past President. He has participated in several research projects and published several peer reviewed papers in the field of crash reconstructions. Mr. Meyers has been involved in private consulting since 1992 and founded his current company, Great Lakes Crash Analysis, LLC, in 2002.
