After serving 35-years in law enforcement, eventually retiring after 30-years with the Indiana State Police, I never lost site of a comment made by one of my Northwestern Reconstruction Instructors in 1992, “Guys, your law enforcement career will go by quickly and if you have a passion for Crash Reconstruction, stay with it in training, reading journals and practicing your skills as it can be a very rewarding career.” I have learned it’s NOT about the money; it’s about the heart and compassion for those who have or are now suffering at the hands of the actions of others.
