Mr. Karpovich ("Karp"), a founding Partner of SKE with more than eight years in the Oakland, New Jersey office, has relocated to North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where he operates a Mid-Atlantic Regional office as an affiliated consultant for SKE and is the owner of John Karpovich, LLC.
After his career of nearly a decade in law enforcement, with a focus in collision analysis and reconstruction, Mr. Karpovich pursued a career in the private sector to further his knowledge and experience while employed at a traffic engineering and accident reconstruction firm for nearly 20 years. Mr. Karpovich holds the distinguished honor of being one of the first 17 individuals to pass the first Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (A.C.T.A.R.) exam ever offered. He remains board certified as an accident reconstructionist after earning his full accreditation in 1992. Mr. Karpovich’s expert testimony has been accepted in Superior Courts in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania as well as Federal Court. Plaintiff and defense clients have been pleased with successful verdicts related to Mr. Karpovich's ability to connect with the jury. Mr. Karpovich has been retained on numerous high-profile traffic crashes and has reconstructed collisions throughout the country.
Mr. Karpovich continues to excel in the collision reconstruction field by fabricating tools, props and devices that have become commonplace in the profession. Motorcycle reconstruction has become one of his specialized areas of the profession where he applies over 35 years of motorcycle riding experience along with specialized training and dynamic testing.
Mr. Karpovich was among the first in the profession to obtain a remote pilot license with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) part 107 to legally fly drones when needed for evidence documentation and accident reconstruction purposes (September 2016).
Mr. Karpovich continues annual training and seminars accumulating over an impressive 1,400 hours of specific accident reconstruction related to education.
