Over 26 years of experience as a Deputy Sheriff with the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office serving more than 1.2 million residents with 15 years of primary duties as a crash reconstructionist. Reconstructed or assisted in the reconstruction of at least 375 fatal and serious injury traffic crashes including cars, heavy trucks, motorcycles, pedestrians, bicycles, and trains. Accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR). Qualified as an expert in traffic accident reconstruction in various State of Michigan Courts to give expert testimony. Completion of over 1,500 hours of certified coursework in traffic crash reconstruction training. Deposed for several civil matters involving traffic crash reconstruction. Senior crash reconstructionist that trained, reviewed casework, and provided expertise and guidance to other crash reconstructionists. Officer in charge of criminal prosecutions. Reviewed State of Michigan UD-10 traffic crash reports submitted by deputies in road patrol for accuracy and proper completion. Developed and taught classes in basic crash reconstruction to high school students.
While working as a deputy in road patrol and the Alcohol Enforcement Unit, investigated hundreds of drivers suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and, or drugs. Over 500 arrests were made because of those investigations. Officer in charge for the prosecution, resulting in numerous occasions giving sworn testimony in courts and administrative hearings. Member of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Motor Unit with hundreds of hours operating various police motorcycles and training.
Honored by both the Oakland County Sheriff's Office and Prosecutor's Office with several commendations and awards, including Investigator of the Year.
