Shawn Ray is a Senior Mechanical Engineer/Accident Reconstructionist/Failure Analyst at SEA Limited, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Shawn worked his way through school as a mechanic and was involved in racing which is a test bed for new technology, vehicle development, and training for the understanding of vehicle performance and control.

In addition to be a registered Professional Engineer in multiple states with a NCEES file, he is also a triple ASE Master Certified Technician. In addition to the ACTAR accreditation, he is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator, Certified Fire Investigator Instructor, and Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator. Shawn has been studying and analyzing accidents and failures for more than 25 years including many different types of vehicles, equipment and machinery and mechanical systems. An in-depth understanding Event Data Recorders (EDR / CDR) and new vehicle technologies adds to the tools available for evaluation of the collisions.

One of the many things that set Mr. Ray apart from his colleagues is the amount of independent research and analysis he conducts. As a result, he has been invited to present and publish his findings at many national and international science, technology and industry forums.
