I am a former traffic homicide investigator/supervisor with 20+ years experience who has been employed in the private sector, consulting on civil litigation cases, since 2017. I specialize in the investigation and reconstruction of motor vehicle collisions and have considerable experience downloading and/or analyzing leading edge digital forensics data from tractor-trailer and automobile electronic data recorders, video event data recorders (DriveCam, SmartDrive, etc.), heavy truck telematics systems (Qualcomm, PeopleNet, etc.), Garmin and other personal GPS based devices, ABS systems (Bendix, Wabco, etc.), and numerous other devices. I have extensive experience inspecting and documenting the condition of braking systems on tractor-trailers and heavy trucks in order to determine their existing braking capability and applying that to the specifics of a particular collision. I am also trained in the interrogation and analysis of digital video evidence to include managing videos from dash cameras, surveillance cameras, body cameras or other sources in order to make determinations of speed, time, distance, traffic signal sequences, use of turn signals, and other important factors used in accident reconstruction and produce demonstrative exhibits to highlight areas of concern.
