Dr. Potma holds three degrees (B.S., M.S., & Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Potma’s primary areas of consulting expertise include multiple aspects of collision reconstruction and biomechanical injury assessments including driver determination, seatbelt/restraint use, and infant/child seats. Dr. Potma has reconstructed accidents involving low-speed, high-speed and fatality collisions, pedestrian and cyclist accidents, heavy vehicles, vehicle rollovers, snowmobiles, motorcycles, and other types of accidents. Dr. Potma performs vehicle inspection, EDR download and interpretation, road safety evaluations including lighting, visibility, winter maintenance and signage.
