Jason Hutchens is a Lieutenant with the Harris County Constable’s Office Precinct 5 in Harris County, Texas, with nearly two decades of law enforcement experience. He currently serves in the Toll Road Division, where he oversees patrol operations and enforcement activities.
Lieutenant Hutchens began his law enforcement career in 2007 after graduating from the Houston Community College Police Academy, where he received the Top Achiever Award for highest academic performance. He has served as a supervisor on a multi-agency crash investigation team and has completed advanced training in collision investigation and reconstruction through Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service and Northwestern University Center for Public Safety.
He holds a Master Peace Officer License and is a Certified Drug Recognition Expert (DRE), FAA-certified Remote Pilot, and Firearms Instructor. In addition to his operational duties, Lieutenant Hutchens has developed and instructed courses in crash investigation and reconstruction for law enforcement personnel across multiple agencies.
His professional awards include the FBI-LEEDA Leadership Trilogy Award, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo First Responder of the Year, and a Life-Saving Award.
