Gene O’Neill has a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from University of Massachusetts - Lowell and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Anna Maria College. After graduation from Lowell, he joined the Mass. Highway Department, building roads and bridges for three years before entering the Massachusetts State Police Academy in 1988. In 1991, Gene was certified in Accident Reconstruction and joined the MSP Accident Reconstruction Unit. He attained international accreditation through the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (#346) and has attended numerous additional reconstruction courses and seminars over the years. In 1993, Gene started his own consulting company, gaining valuable civil litigation experience along the way. He has reconstructed several hundred accidents and has responded to and investigated thousands of accidents of varying severity. Gene has been recognized as an expert in Accident Reconstruction in a number of District and Superior Courts. He retired as a Sergeant from the State Police in 2015 and has focused on building his consulting practice at Skidmark Accident Reconstruction Specialists, LLC.
