James Crawford holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering. His formal training in accident reconstruction includes accident investigation and reconstruction courses from Northwestern University, University of North Florida (I.P.T.M.), Northcoast Polytechnic Institute, the University of California at Riverside and the University of Southern California, as well as numerous specialized courses in accident reconstruction. He has taught various courses in the fields of motor vehicle, aircraft and watercraft accident reconstruction.
James Crawford is a retired Coast Guard Captain who operated Coast Guard cutters and flew both fixed and rotary winged aircraft and served as Chief of the Coast Guard’s Command Center and as Chief of the Avionics Branch of the Coast Guard’s Aeronautical Engineering Division.
While in the Coast Guard he investigated numerous vessel and motor vehicle crashes. His capacity ranged from Search and Rescue Coordinator to Chief Accident Investigator.
