Joseph William Goffin

Mr. Goffin has over 30 years of law enforcement work experience. His law enforcement career started in 1984 as a reserve deputy sheriff working for the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. In February 1990 he was hired as a full time police officer for the city of Darrington. In April of 1990 he was hired as a full time deputy sheriff for the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office and resigned as a police officer for the city of Darrington. He worked as a patrol deputy and traffic enforcement deputy for 9 years. He was then assigned as a reconstruction detective in the Collision Investigation Unit, which is still his current assignment. During Mr. Goffin's time with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office he has investigated hundreds of collisions involving automobiles, pedestrians, trucks, motorcycles, planes and trains. He has also investigated and assisted in the investigation of homicides, assaults, and other felony and misdemeanor crimes. He has operated the total station to measure and map numerous crash and crime scenes. Additionally he has imaged numerous electronic modules on cars/trucks to retrieve crash data information. Before working in law enforcement, he worked for Carnation Dairies for 10 years as a semi-truck driver/supervisor and currently has a class A commercial driver's license. Mr. Goffin is nationally certified through ACTAR (the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction) as a Traffic Collision Reconstructionist and is the owner of G2Recon LLC, an accident reconstruction company. As of Oct. 31, 2016 Mr. Goffin retired from the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office. He has taken an account manager position with FARO while still running G2Recon LLC.
