Jeffrey A. Kidd is the owner of Collision Specialists, Incorporated; an accident reconstruction firm founded in 2005. Collision Specialists, Inc. specializes in all aspects of automotive and commercial motor vehicle collisions, to include “black box” imaging, motor carrier compliance, 3-D scanning, occupant kinematics, roadway defects, pedestrian, bicycle, motorcycle and conspicuity issues.
Mr. Kidd received his initial accident reconstruction training as a charter member of the Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team, which began in 1997. He was assigned to the Valdosta unit and attained the rank of Sergeant and Team Leader over the fatal investigators assigned to the unit. In 2008, Mr. Kidd transferred to the Gainesville SCRT and directed the day to day operations of this team until his retirement in late 2009.
During his twenty-one year career with the Georgia State Patrol, Mr. Kidd investigated over 2500 collisions, which included over 1500 fatal crashes. To date, he has investigated/reconstructed nearly 5000 collisions. He aided with the publications of the accident investigation and reconstruction curriculums taught in the State of Georgia and instructed over 1500 course hours in this field.
He has been recognized as an expert in accident reconstruction in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee, Louisiana and North Dakota and has given testimony in over 400 depositions. Over the last 19 years, CSI has expanded to a staff of 17, and handle cases for both Plaintiff and Defense clients.
